Indulge in a Beer Spa

The Beer SpaNow wellness trends are fast becoming a priority for many hospitality establishments simply because they offer a real and luxurious way for guests to indulge the senses, seek healing or simply relax and unwind.  So when a spa in Prague took things one step further and created a Beer Spa, we couldn’t help but wonder if this would become a fabulous new spa trend the world over.

According to studies carried out by The Beer Spa, the benefits of bathing in beer have been proven since the Middle Ages. Guests of the spa can take a dip in a bath filled with the all-natural ingredients used for beer brewing, including barley, hops and yeast which are kept at a steady 37 degrees Celsius and continuously bubbling to promote the releasing of vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins. The beer spa is complimented by a 20 minute relaxation session on a wheat straw bed (ideal for helping your body absorb all the vitamins and minerals from the spa) as well as an opportunity to indulge in luxurious massage treatments. And the cherry on the top? You guessed it, beer is available on tap throughout your stay and included in your rate.

Made of lightweight aluminium panels on the outside, the pod can be pitched anywhere, with adjustable legs to suit different types of terrain and a wind resistant shell to increase stability. Stretching 2 floors, the 8 sleeper pod includes a wood stove, foldable single beds and a wash basin to melt snow. This pod is every nature lover’s dream – a chance to live simply and minimally whilst embracing nature at its finest. Is this possibly the new way to ‘pitch your tent’ and holiday?

Is this the future of air travel?

4%20December%203 3 silly travel trends you’ll love International Hotel SchoolA UK company called Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) has been hard at work designing the ultimate in futuristic air travel. They are suggesting a windowless aeroplane that allows passengers to choose panoramic views of the world around them or swipe a touch screen to surf the internet or check their email from 35,000ft. Normal windows would be replaced with ultra-thin and highly-flexible screens that would display outside scenery captured by cameras attached to the plane’s exterior, or alternately, passengers can use the panels as a personal touch screen computer. For passengers who are not seated by a ‘window’ they would have similar screens on the head rests in front of them.

CPI have expressed their delight in the fuel savings that would translate as a result of having a fuselage that would be lighter without windows. Lower fuel also means fewer harmful emissions, lower operating costs for the airlines and possibly lower airfares for passengers in the future. Do you think this would ever happen in travel?
