Introduction

This module will broaden your understanding on the concept, principles and practices of business management. Focus is placed on the application of management skills (namely, planning, organising, leading, controlling, and decision-making) and management functions (such as operations management, human resource management, marketing management, financial management, and purchasing and supply management) within a hospitality business. The role of a hospitality business within society is also looked at, which includes the practice of environmental scanning.
